Why We Move Your Data

Sometimes, our business activities require us to send your information to different places around the world, including the UK, where our head office is located. Here are a few reasons we might need to move your data:

Head Office Operations:  Some of our main operations are run from our head office in the UK. This means we might need to share your information with our team there to get things done.

Global Systems: We use key business systems that are hosted globally. This allows us to provide you with better services, no matter where you are.

Legal Reasons: We might also transfer data to comply with legal requirements that involve countries outside the United States.

When we need to send your data to other countries, we make sure it’s just as safe as it is at home. Here’s how we do it:

Adequacy Decisions:** Where possible, we transfer personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the European Commission, UK Authorities or relevant US authorities.

Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): For transfers to the UK or other countries not covered by an adequacy decision, we use Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. These clauses provide specific data protection standards and obligations on the data importer, ensuring the protection of your personal information.

Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs): Where applicable, we may also rely on Binding Corporate Rules that have been approved by competent data protection authorities. BCRs are a set of binding rules that allow multinational companies to transfer personal data within their group of companies, including transfers from the US to the UK.

Additional Safeguards: We may implement additional legal, technical, and organizational measures to ensure that your data receives an equivalent level of protection as it would within the United States. This may include encryption, anonymization, and ensuring that data processing agreements are in place with third-party service providers requiring them to adhere to confidentiality and security standards.
