Accessibility Workshop  ·
Browns, Covent Garden

About the Event

Did you know that 69% of students feel that they need to make changes to who they are to make a good impression during face to face interviews? And that 36% of candidates would be put off applying for a job at a company made up of mostly middle- to upper-class employees?

These are just a few insights from Debut’s latest research, which dives into the structural imbalance at higher education level and explores why traditional tactics for early talent attraction perpetuate the lack of diversity.

This event provides hands-on workshops on accessibility and will provide you with actionable steps to take back to your organisation. A member of the Debut team will lead the conversation at each table and discuss the latest social mobility initiatives and ideas, using case studies from leading graduate employers.

Some key takeaways you can expect:

  • How to perform inclusive interviewing
  • How to empower candidates who are not ‘ready’ to apply yet
  • How to change the structure of your graduate hiring process to broaden your reach
  • How to develop personalised support mechanisms
  • How to create the right message for different channels

The Venue

Lively, vibrant and eclectic, Covent Garden is in the heart of the West End, surrounded by theatres, galleries, shops and landmarks. Once the Westminster County Court building and now elegantly converted into a bar and restaurant, Browns is close to all the main theatres and our pre- and post-theatre suppers are extremely popular. The once Courtroom has now become the house to our events.
